Indiana University Southeast - Design Center Jan - May 2018
Design Center is a student-staffed graphic design internship program dedicated to in-house design projects for Indiana University Southeast schools and programs as-well-as regional nonprofits. It is the objective of the Design Center to equip students with real-world experience in dealing with client-focused graphic design. This is accomplished through faculty mentoring, direct client interactions, and collaborative team projects. With 8-12 clients each semester, students are tasked with multiple roles so that they can take on projects that require them to create layout and graphics, photograph, and as project leaders.

Lower Ohio River Waterkeeper
Led by project leader in January - April of 2018, Jamie Campbell, with team members, Tanner Spalding, Holly Glass, and Felicia Hill, the Lower Ohio River Water Keepers is an environmental organization Waterkeepers help to maintain and improve the quality of the river. Working to ensure that companies follow environmental laws, prevent water shedding and inform the general public of the impact dirty rivers can have on the environment. These were four refined logos explored from a few developed where the targeted audience were young adults aged between 18-34. Some considerations were that the logo design must have location-specific indicators such as the bridge that connected Louisville, KY & Jeffersonville, IN. Multicultural Student Union
Ms. June Higgins of the Multicultural Student Union at Indiana University Southeast needed a logo. Their goals are to promote and encourage campus affinity groups to help give a voice to all ethnic groups on campus. In addition, we provide entertainment venues that create social bonding while promoting an environment for networking with peers. Shown here from top left were samples of work explored by Holly Glass, Addison Millea, Jamie Campbell (lower left) and finally, Parker Bolin.
Glitter Fever 2018
Led by project leader in January - April of 2018, Louis Herlihy, with team members, Holly Glass, Marissa Kress, Kayla and Edward Feuquay, and Ambrose Schneider, Glitter Fever is an annual drag queen show funded by the the Office of Student Activities at IU Southeast. The team created a logotype with blue and silver as the chosen color theme and the theme for 2018 was sci-fantasy. Ambrose Schneider who was already the owner of a professional studio provided some amazing shots for the Facebook page, leaflet, and poster for the event that took place on April 14, 2019.
Digital Marketing Conference
Again, this year we were approached by the student-founded event organized and run by the Marketing Club to promote their annual Digital Marketing Conference. Led by one and only student, Emily Thompson, she created a flyer and turned the similar design into a mailer to market the event at IU Southeast.
Baugh-Bennett Album Cover
Double bassist Robert Docs and pianist Grace Baugh-Bennett founded the New Millennium Duo in 2000 as a collaborative effort to explore and perform music written for double bass and piano. They approached the Design Center to design the cover for their CDs. During the meeting with the clients, Design Center student, we learned that they want to have some photographs taken of them either in the studio or outside, maybe even playing their bass. Bennett also expressed interest in getting us to photograph Doc's bass because it is one of three of that type of basses left in the world! Led by Kacey Slone, team members include Kayla Feuquay, Edward Feuquay, Parker Bolin, Emily Verstynen, and Jamie Campbell. Shown here are some process of Parker Bolin taking pictures of the musician for their album cover layout design.
Graduate Research Journal
Kayla Feuquay provided a final layout as approved by the organizing committee of the Graduate Research Journal which selected printmaking work by Kathleen Combs while the Design Center was responsible for the entire page layout for the 120-page journal.
