Hello!

A repatriate from US after over 10 years teaching in Singapore's Nanyang Technological University, Dr Yeoh began a new position as the head of graphic design at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana, USA in August 2015. From 2004-2007, he was recruited as one of the founding faculty members of Visual Communication at Singapore's School of Art, Design and Media before joining the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information from 2007 - 2015 at Nanyang Technological University.

In addition to being the Graphic Design head, Kok Cheow Yeoh has continued to serve as the coordinator of promotion for the Fine Arts Department. He is also one of the council members for Service Learning and Community Engagement of IUS and he has also served as one of the conference judges for poster presentation at the 12th annual undergraduate student conference at IUS in April 2016. He has secured the Research support fund, summer 2016 faculty fellowship for research, grant-in-aid for research and the overseas conference travel grant totaling US$13,650. He is currently listed as an Associate Editor for the current volume of The Design Collection by The International Advisory of Common Ground Publishing in Champaign, Illinois.

He has actively participated in several international exhibitions such as the International Art & Design Exhibition, Konya Selcuk University, Turkey (May 9 - 20, 2016), Beijing Design Week 2015 (Sep 23 - Oct 7, 2015) and International Invitational Poster Exhibition at Galeri Isık Tesvikiye, Istanbul, Turkey (Apr 9, 2015) just to name a few recent ones. His research paper with Dr. Suwichit Chaidaroon titled Work-life harmony for creative minds in the advertising industry was published in The International Journal of Design in Society published by Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. A recent completed paper, The Golden Dragon Wok: A Visual Survey of the Evocative Essence of Chinese Restaurant Signage Designs in an American Chinatown was submitted for publication in The International Journal of Design in Society.

He sees travel as a form of active and deep learning, especially the latter in which it is about understanding, not just memorizing.
